Shae is an artist and naturalist with a BFA in intaglio printmaking and an MFA in painting. If she’s not making art, she’s usually outside learning the names of things or opening drawers in the research collections of natural history museums. Her work explores modern perceptions that are distancing people from nature, and as a curious layperson, she seeks to find a better balance between science and sentiment.
Shae has exhibited nationally in galleries and museums, including the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, the Wildling Museum of Art and Nature, and galleries in New York, Portland, and Park City. Her work has been included in prominent exhibitions such as Birds in Art and Western Visions, and is held in permanent collections around the world.
In addition to her studio practice, she collaborates with research institutions and organizations across the United States and internationally, contributing to projects that connect art, science, and environmental awareness.
